Teri Wiblin, D.V.M.
I am a native Arizonan and received my DVM from CSU. I have broad veterinary experience. My areas of special interest include dermatology, cardiology, and oncology. Before joining Faust in 1997, I worked at various hospitals valley-wide.
While studying for my doctorate I gained experience working in clinics and animal hospitals in Phoenix, New York, and California. After I graduated from Coronado High School in Scottsdale with high distinction, I began my undergraduate work at the University of Arizona. I received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Science with honors and high distinction from the U of A.
I am proud to say that Faust Animal Hospital earned the prestigious honor of becoming AAHA Accredited in 2013. Only 20% of animal hospitals throughout the United States and Canada have earned this accreditation. There are 900 standards of care that a hospital must have and maintain in order to hold this accreditation. Recertification is required every 3 years. Along with our accreditation, my staff was also recognized as the Veterinary Health Care Team of the Year in 2009 by the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. I was also honored as Veterinary Leader of the Year in 2010. To say that we have an excellent team at Faust Animal Hospital is an understatement. Each team member takes patient care to the highest level, I am proud of each and every member of our team.
Continued education is of the up-most importance for my personal growth and the growth of my staff. I personally am a member of the Arizona Academy which means that I must attend 50 hours per year of continuing education, which is 5 times more than required by the state.
A little about me; music has always been an important part of my life. I attended four years at the University of Arizona on a music scholarship. I was a part of the marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band and sax quartet. I represented U of A in the 1984 Olympic Band. Currently, I am a part of a community handbell choir, Campanillas del Sol, which plays annually at the Desert Botanical Garden at Luminarias de Las Noches.
I am married to a water engineer named Bob, who has a daughter named Sakia. Our hobbies include downhill skiing, reading novels, biking and hiking with our dogs and water aerobics. We have two dogs, Jetson a black Lab, Jessie a Belgian Malinois, and two cats named Penelope and Rusty.
Dr. Desiree Garthe, DVM
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Following high school, I began my career as a receptionist in a very busy veterinary practice in the Wrigleyville area. It was while working here that I began my post high school educational journey, attending community college part time while working full time. Since college was not the normal pathway for members of my family, it was my thirst for education and my determination that made me decide to put myself through college.
After several years, I moved to another animal hospital where I changed paths and became a veterinary assistant. I held this position for many years until graduating from Loyola University with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and deciding to pursue my destiny, veterinary medicine. Mentoring and working with clients and their pets to help them create and sustain a loving and healthy relationship is the underlying passion that motivates me to do what I do.
In 2001, I received my Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Following graduation, my husband, Jim, and I decided to relocate to Phoenix, AZ and establish roots. We have expanded our family which now includes two boys: Aidan who is 12 years of age; Owen who is 7; and one dog, Zeke the Freak, our 9-year-old Boston Terrier. Since moving to Phoenix I have been servicing Top of Shea area clients and their pets for the past twelve years. My areas of interest are alternative therapies, specifically traditional Chinese medicine, and veterinary dentistry. My hobbies are hiking, yoga, bicycling and spending quality time with my family.
Tamie Levine, Practice Manager
I was born in Denver, CO and moved to Arizona in 1992. I have always had a love for animals, which is what brought me to working at a veterinary hospital, and then here to Faust Animal Hospital. We have 4 dogs, Hannah a big, lovable Rhodesian Ridgeback/Shepard mix, Lucky our senior OCD, lovable Cocker Spaniel, and of course Apple and Tuman (the tiny terror) our precious chihuahuas. We have 1 bird, 2 horses, Maverick and Jag, and 2 Nigerian Dwarf Goats Daisy and Dixie. We also have 2 beautiful aquariums with various types of fish, and a tarantula named Theresa. I am very active doing outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, camping, swimming, and horseback riding. Sharing time with our son Austin is still my greatest joy. I also enjoy reading and time at home with my family.

Laura Brusca, Pet Stylist / Groomer
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, my family and I moved to a beautiful ranch in Scottsdale, AZ in 1993. Always and animal lover, my two sons and I spent much time tending to the horses, mules, dogs and exotic cats we raised at our dream home.
After the divorce, I moved to a smaller home in Phoenix and in 2009 graduated from "It's a Dogs World" school of dog grooming. Although, I believe I developed and refined my skills through years of work experience.
I've had animals my whole life. Currently, I own an Irish Setter, a Pomeranian, and a Yorkshire Terrier. I also enjoy my cat, Jaya, and my goat, Oshie. I have assorted interests and hobbies including spirituality and have a B.A. from The Institute of Holistic Theology and a diploma from The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I also enjoy music, but my biggest joy is as a volunteer for New Pathways for Youth, where I am currently a mentor for a young teen named Angelina.
Ruth Tekstar, Daycare Attendant / Technician Assistant
I was born in Pennsylvania, have lived in Arizona most of my life....but am still a huge Steeler fan. I have 2 Shar Pei mixes name Sharpie and Blue which I love dearly. After 22 years in the customer service industry, I retired to follow my true passion of working with animals. I received my Pet Care Technician certification and helped open a new pet resort as a Client Service Specialist and Daycare Attendant. I then took a management position at a grooming salon until I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of the Faust family.
Rudy Cat, Resident House Cat
I've been at Faust since 2005. I was a kitten suffering from heat stroke when I was brought to the nice people of Faust. They nursed me back to health and I have been here ever since. You can usually find me lounging in the doctor's office or on my special seat cushion in the break room.
My job is comforting the nervous and anxious kitties that come to visit. Don't be alarmed if I join you on the bench in the cat waiting area to offer my support. I have to say the dog visitors are not so eager to share seating space with me. I have learned over the years which ones to approach and developed a keen sense of when to run!
Come in and say hello, I would love to meet you!
